In 2017, I collaborated with the University of Bristol Medical School to produce a short film aimed at raising awareness and enhancing comprehension of their groundbreaking new Medical Curriculum: MB21.
Through a series of collaborative meetings, we delved into the concept of the new curriculum, emphasizing the shift from teaching students what to learn to fostering their ability to learn effectively. Given the rapid pace of medical advancements, a rigid curriculum would quickly become obsolete within a few months or weeks. Consequently, one of the most invaluable skills a new medical student can acquire is the capacity to seek out new knowledge and remain at the forefront of medical innovation. This concept was the driving force behind the short film, and my clients at the medical school were highly satisfied with the final product.
I conceived the idea, procured the imagery, executed the motion graphics, conducted the interviews, and assembled the final piece.
“Working with Paul on the production of our MB21 video was a thoroughly rewarding process. We had to convey a lot of information targeted at both internal (institutional) and external audiences.
Paul is an excellent collaborator and through an iterative process we exceeded our expectations. His use of a storyboard led to the development of animations that gave the finished product an innovative, dynamic and informative feel.
The video was viewed over 6000 times within 24 hours of being posted on the University of Bristol’s Facebook page and attracted lots of positive feedback from prospective students at our open days for Medicine.”
